J. Marshall Design opened their Merchandise Mart showroom in 1997 in response to requests from the design community for a showroom that addressed mid-priced home furnishing resources. J. Marshall has become the Mart’s most complete resource for that category of product, displaying a wide range of styles and prices throughout their 11,000 sq. ft. showroom. John Clarkson, the owner of J. Marshall, has used his retail experience to put together a well-rounded assortment of resources that offer great looks and outstanding values.
J. Marshall takes great pride in the level of training of each of their sales associates. Each staff person has participated in training and education at the factories where the product is made. Weekly meetings keep the staff abreast of new product as well as any changes with existing vendors. In addition, regular training is scheduled with the sales reps of each of our primary manufacturers.
One of the unique services that J. Marshall offers is a turnkey approach to the sales transaction for the designer. That means that when a designer places an order through J. Marshall, all of the details regarding shipment from the factory and local delivery are taken care of. The designer can concentrate on the needs of the client and J. Marshall takes care of all the rest—the order details, the shipping arrangements to a local warehouse, the careful inspection of each piece, and the blanket-wrapped delivery to the client. This unique turnkey approach even extends to any post-delivery service that might be required.
J. Marshall has become a regional resource for the design trade, servicing designers throughout the Midwest and shipping home furnishings to destinations throughout the country.
